I just finished reading "Listening is an Act of Love" by Dave Isay (sub-titled, 'A celebration of American Life from the StoryCorps Project') and I was just blown away. The StoryCorps project is essentially a booth where an individual is interviewed by either someone they come with or a booth worker. 40 minutes to discuss their life, joys, sorrows, dreams, etc. There are a few permanent booths and then traveling ones as well.
It was simply amazing to read about the love & dedication these people across the states have. Not going to lie some stories made me cry (spouses dying, September 11, etc) but all stories were told with such love shown for their families it was just..lovely to read & just confirms the important things in life. It really made me think about asking some thought-provoking questions to my parents & writing them down.
A must read!!!!
