After calling his doctor's afterhours line (ER nurses), we needed to wait for a nurse to call us back. Just waiting. Luke held him in our front room (so he wouldn't mess with his eye) while I tried to hold it together and google similar situations. Thankfully nothing serious came up (pink eye, allergy, etc). After talking to a nurse it was determined it was conjunctivitis and they called him in eye drops. Finally after a dose of that & tylenol he was in bed at 11pm.
The next morning his eye was better but we discovered a rash on his stomach. Great! So after talking to the nurse again (pros for being sick on a weekend, mommy & daddy are both home...cons, no doctor offices are open!) we took him to an urgent care. The doc was stumped. Because the drops aren't oral and the hive-like rash was only on his stomach they weren't 100% sure what caused it. But we got new eye drops, medicine for the rash and some children's allergy tablets. The Admiral's eye & rash already look better and through it all he's still been his normal happy self.
Due to his never being sick it really freaked me out but it was such a comfort having Luke here, knowing he'd be able to give The Admiral a blessing (and me!) and having nurses available 24/7. Here's to The Admiral's health & 100% recovery!
